The Tempest has been designed and built to mark the re-issue of the famous Genalex Gold Lion output tubes.
The Tempest uses valve rectifiers in it's power supply to offer the user a true all valve experience. The power supply of the Tempest uses a massively over sized power transformer rated at 600VA, dual rectifiers, hand wound filter choke, and German made F&T filter capacitors. What this means is the amplifiers operates whisper quiet and there is never a shortage of power available for those times when no-one is about ;).
The output transformers on the Tempest are wound with 27 interleaved layers on a large core size for extended bass response. A special winding technique is used to improve detail, micro detail and improve damping.
The Tempest can be biased to run KT66, KT77, KT88, KT90, 6L6gc, 6550, EL34, 6CA7 and the new Tung-sol KT120 output valves.
The bias on the Tempest is easily set by the owner. Above chassis adjustment point and build in LCD meter make it a 1 minute task. Once set, it only needs to be checked every 4 to 8 weeks to keep the Tempest running at its best. $2995.00 (Supplied with your choice of Gold Lion KT88, or Tung-sol KT120 output tubes)
